Focus groups will have the opportunity to make the connection between what we are hearing from the community regarding a long-term vision for the City and how that translates to City policies and actions for meeting that vision. General parameters for the participation in the focus groups include:
Focus groups will consider their own vision for the particular focused element along with the information planning staff has collected as a starting point for each group's work. These groups will also have a host of background material and research available to them to help inform the recommendations that they make. Each focus group will also have the assistance of a planning staff member and resource team members to help provide insight and background information.
Focus group members will evaluate existing policy (goals and objectives) and implementation strategies and recommend edits as well as potential new policies and strategies. There will be additional review of the Focus Group recommendations through the Steering Committee and planning staff and ultimately by Planning Board and City Council.
