W. Broadway - Reserve St. to Airport Rd. Safety Project - MDT

W. Broadway St. between Reserve St. and Airport Rd—MDT Project

FROM THE MONTANA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION:

The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) and Knife River Construction will begin work on safety improvements on West Broadway St. between Reserve St. and Airport Rd. on Tuesday, September 6, weather permitting.

Data obtained through a traffic study showed a crash trend at the Flynn/Broadway intersection, with a need for additional safety improvements. Improvements at this location will include an intersection reconfiguration including concrete medians and updated traffic movements.

The public can expect reduced speeds of 35 mph, single lane traffic, flaggers, delays, and lane closures during different phases of construction. Intersection closures for either Mary Jane or Flynn are expected, with one intersection remaining open at all times. MDT encourages the public to be cautious at all times and plan for additional travel time.

As part of MDT’s Mary Jane Interchange project, two intersections – Mary Jane/Broadway, and Flynn/Broadway – will see major safety improvements. Safety improvements included in this project will promote efficient traffic flow on and off Broadway for both intersections.

The public in encouraged to watch for variable message signs along the route and download MDT’s mobile app “MDT 511”  or visit 511mt.net for the most up to date construction information. Please contact MDT's Missoula District Public Relations Specialist, Megan Redmond at (406) 396-1978 with any questions or comments.
