Mayoral & City Council Forums
The City of Missoula Office of Neighborhoods and the League of Women voters of Missoula are holding a series of in-person and livestreamed City Council and Mayoral Candidate Forums. Over the course of three weeks in October, Missoula neighbors will have an opportunity to hear candidates respond to questions about issues that are important to the community. The Candidate Forum will follow the non-partisan, unbiased and impartial format established by the League of Women Voters. League members will moderate and time-keep, and the League will screen questions submitted by the public for duplication and appropriateness.
The forums will be in-person at the Missoula City Council Chambers, 140 W. Pine and will be broadcast virtually on the Missoula Community Access Television’s Facebook page. The forums will be open to the public. Attendees must remain quiet (no applause or cheering), and no campaign buttons, posters, or any other political signage is allowed, including on clothing.
Questions may be submitted in advance via email to contact@missoula-neighborhoods.org, by noon the day of the event and, in-person, at the beginning of each forum. Questions related to city-wide or ward specific issues are preferred. Candidates will be asked as many questions as the time allows and each candidate will have prepared opening and closing statements.
