August 11 Update: July 24 Storm Recovery

City Continues Curbside Debris Pickup

While residents are encouraged to use the free storm debris drop sites*, the Streets Division will continue to remove curbside debris from residential trees damaged in the July 24 storm.

Tentative pickup schedule for the week of August 12:

  • Slant Streets
  • Franklin to the Fort
  • River Road
  • Immediately adjacent areas
  • Check missoula.co/storm on Fridays for next week's planned pickup areas.

Debris pickup guidelines:

  • Only storm-related vegetation (no trash, leaves, or lawn clippings.)
  • Crews will skip piles that contain trash or other refuse.
  • Place at the curb or in the parking lane—don't block driving or bike lanes.
  • Trim to 6 feet or shorter.
  • The pickup schedule may change due to debris volume, weather, and staffing.
  • Estimated completion: September 6.

For tree work on private or commercial property, hire trained professionals.
