Your voice matters! Shape the future of parks and recreation at Tuesday's open houseMissoula Parks and Recreation invites residents to the second Parks, Recreation, Open Space, and Trails (PROST) Master Plan Open House on Tuesday, October 22, from 5 to 7:15 p.m. at the Missoula Public Library. Families are welcome; light refreshments and children's activities are provided. Throughout 2024, Parks and Recreation conducted extensive community outreach to gather insights about residents' parks and recreation needs. The team thoroughly analyzed gaps and opportunities within the current PROST system using this input. Staff will share the results of this outreach and analysis at the Open House. Additionally, staff and consultants have developed a draft vision statement and goals based on community feedback, system analysis, and PROST community working group recommendations. Resident participation at the Open House will ensure these drafts reflect the community's values. Attendees can review and comment on the draft vision and goals, join interactive activities to share their priorities for system improvements and provide feedback to refine the master plan. Parks and Recreation Director Donna Gaukler encourages residents to stop by Tuesday's Open House. "Starting with our first PROST open house last March, Missoulians have been interested and engaged. As with all City planning processes, your voice matters. Together, we can create outdoor and indoor spaces that truly serve our community for generations."
