Stories & Stones - Missoula City Cemetery - September 21, 2025, 12pm-3pm.

Missoula City Cemetery’s
Stories & Stones Returns for 2025

The Missoula City Cemetery is excited to announce that its popular Stories & Stones event will be held on Sunday, September 21, from noon to 3 p.m. at the cemetery. This year’s event includes 12 live presentations, including a guided tour featuring 12 Missoulians who inspired Jennifer Toelle’s book "Reaching for Reveries." This year’s event also includes a new self-guided tour of additional stories.

Bring your family and join us for a stroll through the Missoula City Cemetery as performers bring to life the stories of some of Missoula’s famous and infamous residents.

  • This event is free to attend; donations are welcome.
  • Food vendors will be on site.
  • Feel free to bring a chair.
  • Live presentations are 10 – 15 minutes in length.

The event is open to the public and is a great opportunity to get outside and learn a bit about the influence of these historical figures while experiencing the beauty of the cemetery grounds.

For more information about the event, histories that will be portrayed this year, and photos from past events, visit the City’s website at ci.missoula.mt.us/162/Stories-and-Stones.
