Meet the Chief

Chief Jaeson White was appointed as Chief of Police of Missoula Police Department on March 2, 2020. Chief White came to our department after serving 25 years with the California Highway Patrol (CHP). While at the CHP, he served as an Assistant Chief in Information Management Division, which included the Computer Crimes Investigation Unit, Information Technology Section and Information Security Office. As a Captain, he was the Commander of Valley Division Special Services. In this capacity, Chief White oversaw Investigative Services Unit, Canine and Special Enforcement Unit, Air Operations Unit, Commercial Enforcement Unit, Warrant Service Team, Critical Incident Investigations Team and the Special Response Team for 14 counties. He also served as the Commander of the Office of Risk Management at CHP Headquarters.

Chief White is a distinguished graduate of the FBI National Academy and the California POST Command College. In addition, he has a juris doctorate and certificate in governmental affairs from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Administration/Criminal Justice from California State University – Chico.

Chief White and his wife, Kimberly, have 2 children. They enjoy many outdoor activities including hiking, trail running, mountain biking, hunting and fishing.
