New Parks, Trails and Open Space Map

Parks and Recreation has published a new city map featuring local landmarks, city and county parks, bicycle-pedestrian routes, and for the first time, detailed maps of city Open Space and other local recreation areas. In addition to a current city street grid, the 24 by 36-inch full-color map features hiking and biking trails on Mount Jumbo, Mount Sentinel, the North Hills. The map also includes a park amenities grid. The information side of the map features insets of Riverfront and Playfair Park trails, plus complete directions to family hikes, visitor tours and even challenging treks to Sentinel and Jumbo's summits.

The map is priced at $4 and is available for purchase at Currents Aquatics Center and several local retailers. The project was funded through a Recreational Trails Project Grant from Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks. Parks and Recreation partnered with the Montana Natural History Center, the Biomimicry Institute and Run Wild Missoula to complete the project. A preview of the map is available below.
